Your safety is of the upmost importance to us. Our office follows the infection control guidelines from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), American Dental Association (ADA) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). Our affiliation with these organizations ensures that we are up to date with the latest recommendations and guidelines. As you know, infection control has always been a top priority in our office and you will notice some additional measures that we have implemented based on current guidelines.
HERE IS WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT:
Prior to your appointment:
You will receive an email or text to fill out any necessary forms online. This will make it more convenient for you and eliminate any paperwork in the office. One of these forms will be a COVID-19 screening questionnaire.
Upon arrival to our office:
Please wear a face mask. We will provide one for you if you don’t have one. Your temperature will be taken in the foyer. Only the patient should come in for the appointment if possible. One caregiver or family member may come in with the patient, and they must wear a face mask and will be screened.
At your appointment:
You will be asked to wash your hands or use hand sanitizer and then use a mouth rinse prior to your dental care. Our office utilizes Surgically Clean Air purifiers to remove harmful particles, pollutants, and other airborne contaminants and bacteria from the air in every operatory during all patient appointments. Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns.

The temperature here at our office in Livonia has dropped and snow is on the ground. Here at James Stewart, D.D.S., we know what that means. It is time for the holidays!
Everyone enjoys delicious holiday foods and sweets and treats that we get to enjoy every year around this time. Sitting down to the table with family and friends and enjoying a great meal together is something that everyone looks forward to. Unfortunately, your mouth might not agree.
If you need significant dental work, like full-mouth reconstruction, dentures, or cosmetic procedures, CareCredit can ease the strain on your budget. With low- and no-interest financing options, CareCredit allows monthly payments on short or long loan schedules. This means that you can get the dental work you need now for a healthy mouth and beautiful smile, but you can finance the cost over months or years.
It’s hard to compete with the dazzle of the holidays. You try to juggle work, kids, shopping, event planning, event attending, and a ton of other tasks that can leave you frazzled. The problem is, in November and December, everyone seems to take photos! So there you are, looking bedraggled and feeling like a cat in a roomful of rocking chairs. What’s the one thing – the one simple thing – you can do now to make those photographs positive memories of the season (rather than kindling for the upcoming winter)?
Do gaps in your smile make you self-conscious? Do you avoid smiling in photos or hide your smile when you’re with others because of chipped, stained, or otherwise flawed teeth? If this describes you, it may be time to talk to Dr. Stewart about cosmetic bonding. This common cosmetic corrective service is a less costly, more conservative alternative to procedures like porcelain veneers or other cosmetic care. While it’s not the answer for every patient, Dr. Stewart can assess your situation at our Livonia office and recommend the appropriate treatment, which may include cosmetic bonding.
If you think you need a specialist for cosmetic dentistry, get ready for a long search. The American Dental Association does not recognize cosmetic dentistry as a specialty, so there are no cosmetic dentistry specialists. They simply don’t exist.
